Week 5 -Weekly Vocabulary

Week five ,I didn't learn a lot vocabulary from my internship site .
There's some vocabulary i don't understand :

Word :Occupational Therapy (OT)
Meaning :a form of therapy in which patients are encouraged to engage in vocational tasks or expressive activities, as art or dance, usually in a social setting.
Context:Occupational therapy are limitations to participate in everyday life.

Word: Physical Therapy (PT)
Meaning : the treatment of physical disability.
Context: I want to be a physical therapy in the future .

Word: Rehabilitation
Meaning: to restore to a condition of good health or ability to work.
Context:There's a lot different kind of rehabilitation PT and OT is the two of them .

Word :Licensure
Meaning:The act or an instance of granting a license, usually to practice a profession.
Context:I show mine licensure to my teacher .

Word:Orthopedic
Meaning :The brance of medicine that deals with prevention .
Context:Jimmy just get transport to orthopedic .

Week 4-The End of the Fourth Week of internship

PART ONE:
Mine internship work-site are at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers .
Saint Vincent is a major health care resource in the greater New York Metropolitan area.The system is anchored by Saint Vincent's hospital Manhattan in historic Greenwich Village , which serves as the academic medical center for new york medical college in new york city .Compared our school neighborhood and there are so different in Manhattan there's a lot building and Bussiness but our school neighborhood are like a town where people live .
Mentor Name : Dr.Patricia Cusack
She's Nice always take care of us . If we have any problems she love to help us to solve and she always want us to learn more stuffs in the hospital (Find our goals)
In this week(Week four) i had done a lot things (Same things as before).

PART TWO:
1.When do you leave school ?
I leave school around 11:45AM.
2.How long does it take you to get to your internship?
I think it takes one hour.
3.When do you arrive at home ?
The time i got home is around 6 o'clock because right now the Q train does't stop at Ave U so i have to take it to Sheephead Bay or Stillwell Ave and take back to Ave U .
4.What is your Schedule?(What days do you work and for how long each day?)
My Schedule are Monday to Thursday 1:00PM to 4:00PM
5.Who are the two people that can sign your time card?(Your mentor and the additional person)
There's only one person sign mine Time card (My mentor) ,If she absent ,she will help me sign it next day .

PART THREE:
There's nothing between third week and fourth week because i keep doing the same jobs (Over-over again).The thing I like my internship are work with patients because i hear from my friends (Also work in hospital) They can't close to the patients . There's nothing dislike about mine internship .

Week 3 - Life as a High School Intern

Week Three , So many things are happening as days pass .
I have been working in my internship place for three weeks , Something that i from the time i start until the time i leave :

1. Sign-In
   
2. Change clothes , shoes and pants
   
3. going down to basement then go up to the 6 floor
   
4. Clean all the bed sheet (Change)
   
5. Go to clean the an other gym room
   
6. Sometimes clean the kitchen room
   
7. Stay in the gym room (Wait until they need me )
   
8. Sometimes patients call me to help them
   (Hold wheel chair & Help them get into bed & Clean stuffs that they want me to)
   
9. Go back to Office
   
10. Change Back
    
11. Go home
    

I work with a partner .She's my classmate name called "Paola" , We always work together help each other lot .

LITTLE STORY ABOUT INTERNSHIP :
There's a story about mine internship site .In this week when i was free there's a doctor came to sit with us and tell us about nursing , college,degree's etc. After she telling me that i feel much stronger about my life and know more about what i have to do next (College and Study ). That's the little story about me !

Week 2-Getting better acquained with your site

Week two, in this week i start new assignment because in Nursing floor i have nothing to do (A lot free time) so our mentor give me a new assignment . so now my assignment is
Rotation :Rehabilitation
Location : Coleman 6

• Help patient hold their wheel chair
  
• Clean bed & Stuffs
  
• Organized stuffs
  
• Help patient walk & get in the bed

and till 4 o'clock i go back to my mentor office change the clothes , pants and shoes then go home .
